Online learning has become more popular in the past few years. According to Galway Academy, several higher education institutes and corporate organizations have adopted the online learning strategy.

The rise of online learning started significantly in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020. As most educational institutes suspended their physical classes during this period, they had to look for intuitive ways to continue the academic sessions remotely.

Similarly, corporate organizations also found ways to run stakeholder meetings and on-the-job training without meeting physically.

Galway Academy says flexibility remains the most important factor students use when selecting between online learning and traditional.

According to the 2019 edition of the Online College Students Survey conducted by Learning House, 63% of 1,500 registered students said they enrolled in online programs because of their flexibility and convenience.

They said online learning allowed them to live a balanced life between education and other life responsibilities. In the survey, about 34% of the registered students preferred online learning to the traditional classroom method.

By looking at the statistics before 2019, about 42% of registered students enrolled in an online program because of its flexibility and convenience.

An expert from Galway Academy concluded that learning online will continue to expand as much as it becomes more flexible.
